GALLERY APPLICANTS

The focus of this section of NEW MATERIAL Miami is contemporary galleries that have a physical space and/or consistent programming for at least 6 months prior to the date of application. Artist collectives, artist-run and alternative spaces are also welcome to apply, provided they have a demonstrable exhibition history.

Please note: artist collectives should apply for one of gallery space as a single applicant, not under the individual artist's category.

The NEW MATERIAL 2014 application process is CURRENTLY OPEN.

Applications received on the following early deadline shedule receive discounts on room fees as follows:

February 1, 2014 - Room Fee $4,000

April 1, 2014 - Room Fee $4,250

INDIVIDUAL ARTIST APPLICANTS

There are four ways for individual artists to apply to participate in NEW MATERIAL Miami Beach 2014:

1. OPEN CALL FOR SOLO SPACE
For NEW MATERIAL'S first year, we are offering a solo exhibition open call for one artist selected by jury. This artist will be selected from the open call applications to receive an entire room at the cost of NEW MATERIAL to use for a Solo exhibition of their proposed work.

2. REGULAR ARTIST'S EXHIBITION SPACE APPLICATION
Expanding on our show premise, artists are invited to submit proposals for a juried process to rent available Artist's Exhibition Spaces. Individual artists applying to this category will be selected by jury from the list of all applicants.

Upon completion of the jury process, successful proposals will be allocated either 1/3, 1/2 or a whole room based on the amount of space requested in the initial application. Please refer to the below links for application fees, and for a list of participation fees associated with these room size allocations.

3. "NOT FOR SALE" GROUP EXHIBIT
NEW MATERIAL is offering an opportunity for artists, in the commercial context of Art Basel Miami, to participate in a group show of work that is not for sale. This may include work that is not made of conventional materials, non-object based work, or simply work that is not available for purchase. One room at the Lily Hotel will be used for this group exhibition.

4. PUBLIC IMAGE FILM & VIDEO ART OPEN CALL
NMAF is offering an opportunity for artists working with film and video to show with us in designated areas of our three hotel lobby spaces, roof deck and on-site Safari Bar. We are seeking work that can be looped, both with audio, or silent. Several innovative contexts, projection surface options (architectural or object based), image sizes from miniature to large scale, and technologies will be considered.
